Our Vision:

Upazila Cooperative Office, Sunamganj Sadar, Sunamganj has been able to achieve significant success in the past three years in terms of maintaining the continuity of the work of the cooperative directorate in order to make the cooperative development-oriented and sustainable, as well as preparing the foundation to face future challenges. As a result of the innovative efforts of the officials, the cooperative has been able to become more of a people's organization and to improve its quality by forming production-oriented and service-oriented cooperatives across the country, adopting the strategy of creating cooperative entrepreneurs, and playing a supporting role in the production and marketing of cooperative products. 20 new co-operative societies have been formed in the last three years and a total of 425 new co-operatives have been enrolled in the last three years. 375 cooperatives have been imparted demand based training through mobile training. Also, development projects undertaken by Directorate of Cooperatives are being implemented in the light of 'Vision 2021', achievement of 'SDG' and 7th Five Year Plan. A total of 06 cooperative societies have been registered in the financial year 2020-2021 under the SPS (Service Simplification System) project of the Directorate of Cooperatives in order to facilitate the services of the Honorable Prime Minister A2I.

Our Mission:

To bring the number of cooperatives to a reasonable level, speedy disposal of defunct cooperative societies is one of the main objectives of the next financial year. Therefore steps will be taken to reactivate the deregistered and defunct cooperative societies. Besides identifying specific number of upazila-based societies and converting them into production-oriented societies, initiatives will be implemented. Facilitating citizen services of district cooperative office through innovative initiatives and creating cooperative entrepreneurship by providing trade based training and technical support and facilitating the path of self-employment is also one of the goals. Cooperatives will help in branding and marketing of cooperative products with the aim of increasing domestic production and delivering the products directly to the consumers at affordable prices. Apart from this, project/programme proposals will be sent to Directorate of Cooperatives for taking up projects/programmes for the creation of direct and alternative employment, reduction of social and financial disparity and improvement and empowerment of ethnic groups, underprivileged and backward communities and women through cooperatives.
